Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has topped Forbes magazine's annual list of Hollywood's Top-Earning Actresses by banking $27 million in the past year to beat out her partner Brad Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, who raked in $25 million.

In a statement, the Forbes magazine said: "Most of Angelina's earnings came from her profits shares from her action in film 'Wanted', but she also scored a fat upfront cheque for film 'Salt', an action film originally slated to star Tom Cruise, in which Jolie plays a CIA agent who is accused of being a Russian spy."

Meryl Streep with her film 'Mamma Mia' was placed third with an income of $24 million, while 'Sex and the City' actress Sarah Jessica Parker came fourth with $23 million in earnings.

Cameron Diaz was ranked fifth generating $20 million, while Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock tied for sixth place after making $15 million each. Nicole Kidman and Drew Barrymore tied for eighth place, followed by Renee Zellweger.

The magazine compiled the list after speaking to agents, managers, producers and lawyers.

Forbes.com said it spoke to agents, managers, producers and lawyers to work out what actresses were paid upfront for movies they are currently shooting and what pay they might have earned after a movie hit the theaters. Money earned from perfume or clothing lines was also taken into account.

As usual, the actresses earned significantly less than their male counterparts. This year's top-earning actor Harrison Ford earned $65 million, $38 million more than Angelina.

The top 10 actors earned a combined total of $393 million, compared with the actress' earnings of $183 million.

Stallone is an Academy Award-nominated American actor, director, producer and screenwriter. Stallone is the son of Frank Stallone, Sr., a hairdresser, and Jackie Stallone (née Labofish), an astrologer, former dancer and promoter of women's wrestling.

One of the biggest box office draws in the world from the 1970s to the 1990s, Stallone is an icon of machismo and Hollywood action heroism. David Carradine Dead In Thailand

John Arthur "David" Carradine or widely known as David Carradine, the legendary star of the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu", has been found dead in the Thai capital suite, Bangkok, Thailand. Michael Turner, spokerperson of the U.S. embassy, said that this 72-year-old actor died either late on Wednesday or early yesterday, but he would not provide any further details related to this incident.

David Carradine was still making movies when he died, with his latest completed film, Portland, due to be released next year.

Chuck Binder, Carradine's manager said that he was in Thailand to filming his latest movie. Mr Binder told the BBC he was shocked at news of the actor's death and added: "He was full of life, always wanting to work ... a great person."

However, the website of Bangkok newspaper The Nation cited unidentified police sources as saying Carradine was found on Thursday morning by a hotel maid in a wardrobe with a rope around his neck, hanged in his luxury hotel room, and he was believed to have committed suicide.

Carradine was born on december 8, 1936 in Hollywood, California, the son of Ardanelle Abigail (née McCool; 1911-1989) and noted American actor John Carradine (1906-1988). He was the half-brother of Bruce, Keith, Christopher and Robert Carradine, as well as the uncle of Ever Carradine and Martha Plimpton.

Carradine had Irish, English, Scottish, Welsh, German, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian and Cherokee ancestry. Carradine attended Oakland Junior College and later studied drama at San Francisco State College before working as an actor on stage and in television and cinema. He changed his given name to David after starting his career.

David Carradine's most well known movies in recent years were Kill Bill 1 and 2, directed by Quentin Tarantino in 2003 and 2004. Carradine was a leading member of a venerable Hollywood acting family that included his father, character actor John Carradine, and brother Keith.
